Gathering New Momentum, Embarking on a New Journey, Creating a New Chapter | ICEE 2026 Concludes Successfully in Jakarta

Release time:2026-05-13

On May 13, the three-day 2026 Indonesia International Coal & Energy Expo (ICEE 2026) concluded successfully at the Jakarta International Expo. Staying true to the theme "Cooperation for New Development in Energy," this year's edition covered 20,000 sqm, bringing together over 150 leading companies, 600 buyers, and 15,000 visits. The buyers represented 70% of Indonesia's coal production volume. The expo facilitated high-level networking and practical collaboration, injecting momentum into China-Indonesia energy cooperation and the high-quality transformation of Southeast Asia's mining industry.

New Scale, Improved Quality: A Strong Industrial Cluster Effect

ICEE 2026 achieved comprehensive upgrades in scale, exhibitor mix, and visitor quality. Leading companies such as China Coal Group, CCTEG, Sinopec, Huawei, XCMG, Xuzhou Coal Mining Group, Shandong Energy, CRRC Datong, Liugong Machinery, Shaanxi Automobile Group, TZCO, Rept Battero, CCCC Tianhe, Liyu Power, Longking Environmental Protection, and CiDi took part. Delegations from Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Jiangsu and other manufacturing provinces also exhibited, showcasing the collective strength of China's energy equipment and technology in the Indonesian market.

On the buyer side, leveraging the local networks of the Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI-ICMA) and the Indonesian Mining Services Association (ASPINDO), ICEE 2026 sent targeted invitations to decision-makers, procurement heads, and chief technical officers from major coal producers, mining service companies, and energy investment institutions. These core buyers came with clear equipment procurement, technology cooperation, and project investment needs, engaging in in-depth one-on-one discussions with exhibitors, effectively bridging the gap between supply and demand in the China-Indonesia energy sector.

New Products, Smart & Green: Steering the Energy Transition

ICEE 2026 highlighted two major directions in the energy transition: at the macro level, mining is shifting from scale-driven to efficiency-driven, with smart extraction and digital management as key growth drivers; at the micro level, low-carbon and safety requirements are pushing enterprises to accelerate their upgrades.

The product showcase at ICEE 2026 moved beyond the traditional logic of displaying individual pieces of equipment. It closely followed the urgent need of Indonesia's coal industry to transition from volume expansion to quality improvement, focusing on key directions such as smart mining, green and low-carbon solutions, digital management, and new energy integration. The expo presented the latest global trends in the upgrade of the coal and energy industry, providing full-cycle, customized technical solutions for the development of Indonesia's mining sector.

Three major trends emerged:

First, smart mining is accelerating. China Coal Group and CCTEG showcased smart mining solutions and mine safety management systems. Haina Technology focused on smart conveying and energy saving. Halo Robotics demonstrated AI-powered drone inspection systems. CiDi presented autonomous mining trucks and smart dispatch systems.

Second, green solutions have become essential. XCMG launched large electric mining equipment. CRRC Datong introduced new-energy locomotives and smart logistics systems. Longking showed its smart environmental protection systems. Rept Battero presented energy storage solutions for mining, supported by its Indonesian battery plant. PT Prasetia Dwidharma's IMAGINA coal additive, a winner of an Indonesian innovation award, improves combustion efficiency.

Third, integrated solutions are rising. Huawei launched its digital and smart mining solution for Indonesia, using AI and IoT to drive intelligence across the entire mining process. TZCO displayed excavators, electric forklifts, and wide-body trucks. Liyu Power, CCCC Tianhe, and Shaanxi Automobile Group provided differentiated solutions spanning power, construction, and transport. All technologies and products were adapted to Indonesia's local conditions.

New Cooperation, Real Results: China-Indonesia Energy Cooperation Reaches New Heights

ICEE 2026 featured dedicated exhibition zones, professional forums, and concrete project signings, creating a full-chain cooperation system from "showcase to matchmaking to signing to implementation." The expo debuted a special zone highlighting landmark China-Indonesia projects in coal exploration, mining investment, infrastructure, technology export, operations management, and engineering contracting.

Concurrent events included the 2026 China-Indonesia Coal & Energy Conference and the 2026 Indonesia Clean Coal and Green Mining Conference, serving as key platforms for policy dialogue, industry experience sharing, and technical exchange.

Shanghai Steel and the Indonesia Coking Industry Association signed a cooperation agreement, marking a substantial step in China-Indonesia coal trade and industry coordination.

Huawei launched its digital and smart mining solution for Indonesia, providing a clear technology roadmap for local low-carbon transformation.

Shandong Energy, Liugong Machinery, and Rept Battero held strategic cooperation signing and product delivery ceremonies on-site.

The Coal & Energy Conference for Sustainable Urban Development explored new possibilities for urban growth under the energy transition.

The organizers, including COAL-CCPIT and SHIXI International Exhibition Group, organized business activities before and during the expo, including visits to the Indonesia Guangdong Chamber of Commerce and Deli Mining to integrate overseas Chinese and local mining resources, and meetings with Bumi Resources to discuss introducing advanced Chinese technologies in coal mining and processing.
